Frequency (F)
Frequency is how many times a wave passes a certain point in one second. It is measured in hertz (Hz), or cycles per second.
Wavelength (λ)
What is wavelength? Wavelength is the distance between two consecutive wave crests or the distance from one peak to the next. Wavelength is usually expressed in meters.
How to Convert Frequency to Wavelength
λ = C/F
C = Speed of light – 299,792,458 m/s
To convert the frequency to wavelength, divide the frequency by the speed of light (C). For example, a radio station’s frequency is 108 MHz and the speed of light is 299,792,458 m/s. Therefore, to convert the frequency to wavelength, divide 108 MHz by 299,792,458 m/s. The result is 2.77585609 meters.
